Each year, the Norwegian Norwegian Oil and Gas Association publishes a special environmental report, the objectives of which include publishing emission and discharge data and informing the public about the industry’s environmental work and the results it has achieved. The reporting submitted by the operating companies follows the reporting requirements stipulated by the authorities in the appendix to the (Norwegian) Information Duty Regulations: Requirements for reporting from offshore petroleum activities. This entails that the operating companies submit detailed reports each year on the emissions and discharges from their activities on the Shelf.
