Seminar: high level of P&A activity forecast

The level of activity in plugging and abandonment (P&A) of wells and shutting down installations on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) is expected to be high over the next five years.

All aspects of market developments will be covered at this year’s Plug & Abandonment seminar in Stavanger on 19 October. Sign up today to take part.

Players in the sector will present the latest status reports, and share experience and lessons learnt from these operations.

They all also be providing inspiration for new ideas and technologies which can be used for P&A as well as for cessation and removal of installations.

The level of activity in 2023-28 is expected to be high, particularly where wells are concerned.

  • Estimated P&A operations: 152
  • Estimated slot recovery operations: 337
  • An estimated 17 of these will be subsea P&A operations

In addition, at least 256 000 tonnes of installations are due to be sent ashore for scrapping during this period.

The seminar is free of charge, and several hundred participants have already registered to attend this event at the Stavanger’s Quality Airport Hotel.

Meet roughly 20 suppliers who will be present on their own stands, and get updated about the best and newest technology related to P&A.
