“The parties have agreed to wait with the talks until after the summer,” says Elisabeth Brattebø Fenne, director of organisation and employer policy and lead negotiator at Norwegian Oil and Gas.
Tuesday 24 May had been set aside for negotiations on the oil industry agreement with the Norwegian Union of Industry and Energy Workers (IE), and on the oil agreement with the Norwegian Union of Energy Workers (Safe) and Negotia.
These two agreements are basically frame settlements, which means in part that pay rises are negotiated locally at the companies. They apply primarily to employees on land, but also to office workers offshore.
About 4 500 employees are covered by the agreements. They work for the following member companies in the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association.
Aker BP, ConocoPhillips Norge, Equinor, Vår Energi, Wintershall Dea Norge, Lundin Energy Norway, Norske Shell, Totalenergies EP Norge, Gassco, NOFO, KCA Deutag Drilling Norge, Suncor Energy Norge, Repsol Norge and Altera Infrastructure Norway.
