The Norwegian Oil and Gas Association pursued talks on the oil service agreement with the Norwegian Union of Industry and Energy Workers (Industry Energy) and on the well service agreement with the Norwegian Union of Energy Workers (Safe). These accords are identical.
The settlement reached is in line with the central agreement concluded earlier this year between the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO)/Confederation of Vocational Unions (YS).
“We have pressed ourselves as far as we could to achieve a result the parties could unite over,” says lead negotiator Jan Hodneland at Norwegian Oil and Gas.
“We reached agreement with Industry Energy but not with Safe. However, the latter has accepted that Norwegian Oil and Gas will implement its final offer.”
Rates in the pay matrix will go up by NOK 19 700 from 1 June. This rise is inclusive of offshore compensation and holiday pay, and includes the centrally agreed increase.
Adjustments were also made to the shift/night supplement, remuneration for working on public holidays and the minimum pay rates.
The negotiated agreements cover just over 5 000 employees in various oil service companies (suppliers to the oil companies.
