14.07.26 The well service strike is over – referred to voluntary wage board

Offshore Norge and SAFE have agreed to refer the labour dispute, which has lasted for one month, to a voluntary wage board. As a result, both the strike and the lockout have ended.

09.07.26 More than 400 Employees furloughed – More Expected to Be Affected

The SAFE strike is costing more than NOK 500 million per week. As of today, more than 400 employees have furloughed, including workers in companies that are not party to the strike.

On Saturday morning, 27 June at 07:00, a lockout involving approximately 1,000 SAFE members covered by the Oil Service Agreement will be implemented. Going forward, the industrial dispute will increasingly affect production.

SAFE’s strike is having a severe and highly unbalanced impact on our members companies. SAFE’s characterisation of the agreement as a “dumping agreement” does not reflect the realities of wage levels or the proposed pay increase.

After five hours of overtime, an agreement was reached between Offshore Norway and Styrke. SAFE has chosen to take industrial action.

Mediation concerning the oil service and well service agreements is taking place this weekend, June 13–14.

Late Thursday night, 5 June, mediation in the offshore pay settlement for around 8,000 offshore employees resulted in an agreement with the unions Styrke, Safe, and Lederne. A strike has therefore been avoided.
